Disappointment grows in WTO deal - Online Bingo News

The Financial Times is reporting that a compensation deal reached between the US and three other World Trade Organization (WTO) nations over the US’ anti-online gambling policies could be short lived.
Online bingo operators and online bingo halls joined many European-based online gaming operators in expressing their disappointment over a deal in which EU trade representatives sought compensation from the US after that country decided to withdraw from its WTO obligations to open its online gambling industry.
The Financial Times claims that the high expectations greeting the deal have been tarnished by a closer look at the small print.  This has resulted in Remote Gaming Association, a European online gaming industry group, stating their dismay at the deal, which does very little to compensate European online games operators, and their intention to take the matter further.
With many in the European online gaming industry believing the WTO has washed its hands of the issue, the online bingo industry faces going into the new year with no end in sight to the current shut out regards the US market.
